Rassemblant le talent de Joël Fullum Grenier, François Guay, Kevin Mathieu, Frédéric Messier et Gabriel Messier, Colors On Trial vante la cohésion d’inspirations musicales diverses sur les sept pièces formant Blooming Spells. Malgré leurs formations bien différentes, les musiciens parviennent à créer un son « Colors On Trial », significatif de la musique actuelle au Québec.

Sur ce premier EP, Blooming Spells, le quintette laisse miroiter son attirance évidente pour un rock vaporeux où se côtoient voix éthérées et guitares insaisissables, passages solides et moments vigoureux. En évitant les distinctions de genres comme de langue (les titres étant en français et en anglais), le résultat en est que plus probant : voilà un disque qui s’écoute sans censure et fait autant appel aux mouvements du coeur qu’aux plus profonds désirs de laisser-aller.
